The Old Girls' Association was founded in 1933, and is dedicated to maintaining contact with all girls who have attended the school. We are tasked with preserving the legacy of the School, while keeping our members up to date on the latest news and events from the School. Old Girls are active at the school in many ways. There are currently several Old Girls among the staff.
Two Old Girls are permanent members of the Governing Body; the Chairlady, and another member of the Old Girls’ Association, nominated by the Committee. This position is currently held by Mrs Di Gibbs. In addition, the Deputy Chair of the Governing Body, Ms Faye Mukkadam, and Mrs Judith Miller are both Old Girls of the school, making total of 4 Old Girls currently serving on the Governing Body.
The Old Girls Association is responsible for arranging the Reunion each year, and also provides a Bursary for the daughter of an Old Girl to attend the School.
We have an extremely active Facebook page, administered by Jeanette van der Breggen.
The Old Girls’ Association initially launched the Filiae Regis rose in 2002 for fund-raising but the rose was featured widely at functions organised for the 125th anniversary of the school in 2004.
The rose was named in 2002.
The Filiae Regis rose was named after the school motto, which is Filiae Regis, Daughters of the King.

After matriculating in 1964, Liz completed a BA degree at PMB University. Not being sure about a career she worked and traveled overseas for a year. An exciting time. In 1970 Liz went back to DSG as a History teacher, then got married and had 3 children. Since then Liz has taught at a number of schools but feels DSG was the BEST. Liz currently teaches English, helping children to 'fill in the gaps' to cope with the demands of a second language.
